Workshop on Untargeted Metabolomics 2026 (Prague, BIOCEV) 06.08. 2026

Dear colleagues, we cordially invite anyone interested in metabolomic data processing to the Untargeted Metabolomics 2026 workshop, focused on working with the MZmine software. The workshop is jointly organized by IOCB CAS, UCT Prague and the Czech MS society. The training will be led by experts in metabolomic data processing from the Biochemistry of Plant Specialized Metabolites group at the IOCB CAS. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the air-conditioned facilities of the BIOCEV center (Průmyslová 595, 252 50 Vestec). Participants will be provided with all necessary materials so they can practice the individual procedures themselves. However, it is also possible to attend the workshop solely as a live demonstration. Absolute beginners are encouraged to complete an approximately one-hour online lesson, which will take place on Monday, August 17, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. All presentations will be conducted in English. Registered participants will receive detailed organizational information prior to the workshop. Participation in the workshop is free of charge. Workshop: Untargeted metabolomics with mzmine on August 18, 2026 03.07. 2026

Are you already bored with summer? Do you hate the heat, the sun, and mosquitoes? Sign up for a summer workshop on using the mzmine program in untargeted metabolomics. This event is organized through a collaboration between the Czech Society for Mass Spectrometry and research groups at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry (IOCB), the Institute of Microbiology (IMIC), and the University of Chemistry and Technology (UCT). The instructors are experts in metabolomic data processing from the Biochemistry of Plant Specialized Metabolites group (Tomáš Pluskal Group) at IOCB. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at the air-conditioned Biocev Center (Průmyslová 595, 252 50 Vestec-Jesenice u Prahy) starting at 9:30 a.m. Absolute beginners are encouraged to complete an approximately one-hour online session the day before, on Monday, August 17, at 10:00 a.m.

Dear supporters of mass spectrometry, new CzechMS website is currently being developed, and registration for the upcoming 14th CzechMS conference will be launched there in the coming weeks. Once this happens, we will inform you via newsletter. However, registration with the society and payment of the membership fee, which also serves as the conference fee, is possible via the existing website.

20th International Interdisciplinary Meeting on Bioanalysis – CECE 2026 (Bratislava, Slovakia) 17.04. 2026

Dear friends and colleagues, we cordially invite you to the 20th International Interdisciplinary Meeting on Bioanalysiss – CECE 2026, which will take place October 21–23, 2026, at the Tatra Hotel in Bratislava. The CECE conference has long served as a unique platform for experts from various fields of bioanalytical sciences to meet. Its goal is to promote interdisciplinary dialogue, share the latest findings, and foster new scientific collaborations across disciplines. The scientific program will feature plenary and keynote lectures by leading international experts, technical oral presentations, and interactive poster sessions. Theme-wise, the conference will focus on modern separation techniques and microfluidics, (bio)pharmaceutical and clinical analysis, “omics” and nanotechnology in bioanalysis, as well as the use of data analysis and artificial intelligence in bioanalytical research. An integral part of the program will also be the CECE Junior section, designed for doctoral students and young researchers, which will provide a space for presenting their own work, developing scientific communication, and building future professional connections. We look forward to seeing you in Bratislava and to engaging in both professional and informal discussions in an inspiring international setting.
